I was going through our past family trips and trying to decide on which was the most memorable one. It turned out that I failed to do so because all of them were special to me, in one way or another.
Thinking about it, I realised that it's not so much about the things we do or places we visit, but the people we're with. Family vacations are so precious because each of them allows us to witness many unique firsts from the kids - from the elementary milestones like first splash and first slide to the more exciting ones like first dog sledding and first trapeze attempt. These moments are what made each of these trips unforgettable and priceless to us as parents. We laugh, we play, we grow together with our kids.
These moments will never return and my babies won't stay little for much longer. While I like to reminisce those times, I am also looking forward to making more new, exciting memories with them. We might not be able to recreate the same experiences but we will be able to recreate that sense of joy and unparalleled family bliss.
